Backcountry Member’s Rules

  • Leave No Trace. Pack it in, and Pack it out!
  • Please print two membership cards. Please carry ID and membership card with you while on the premises and place one on the dashboard of your vehicle.
  • Membership includes access to the trail system, wilderness areas, and lower lake (some weekends not available due to Event Space rental. Check our event calendar.)
  • Event space (cabin, pavilion, camping orchards, and upper lake) are out of bounds areas. Membership will be revoked for interacting with Event clients in these areas, or cycling/hiking through these areas. Look for signage at the edge of these areas.
  • Members may purchase a ticket to festivals at a $20 discount, but may not enter festivals otherwise.
  • We recommend members carry a phone in case of emergency.
  • No weapons of any type allowed with the exception of a utilities knife.
  • Dog owners must carry a leash, and dogs must have on an identifying collar or harness.
  • Dogs must be friendly on or off leash to other dogs, hikers and cyclists.
  • Dog owners must be able to control their pet.
  • Dog waste must be removed out of the trails, and roadways. Dog waste bags should not be left to be picked up later.
  • Cyclists must ride under control.
  • Cyclists must be courteous to hikers, and slow down.
  • Share the trail
  • No fires
  • No making new trails. Submitting ideas for new trails welcome.
  • Do not remove or damage foliage or plants that are not in the trail.
  • Please use provided porto johns. If not possible, all bathroom stuff MUST happen at least 200 feet from open water. Bury solid waste, and remove paper products.
  • Property must be vacated by season hours. Summer 8am-8pm. Winter 8am-6pm
  • If trails need maintenance please inform staff, or send message to Deerfields.
