Upper Cabin
Built in the 1850’s, the structure stood originally elsewhere, and was disassembled and reassembled in its present location in 1954. At which point the back bedroom, bath, kitchen, and wrap-around porch were added. The cabin is centered around the large stone fireplace and high vaulted ceilings. The main room is made of dovetailed hand-hewn walls of Oak, that support the vaulted ceiling. The ceiling is made of American Chestnut, which was cut from Deerfields property in the 1930’s.
The cabin sleeps four. A King bed is in the loft overlooking the fireplace, and a Full bed is in the bedroom.
The Kitchen is fully equipped with an electric range, microwave, gas grill (on porch), coffee maker, dishes, utensils, two refrigerators, and lots of counter space.
The small bathroom is equipped with a modern shower, sink, and toilet.
The covered porch wraps around three sides of the house with a beautiful view of the lake and surrounding natural landscape.
